Job summary

Sundance Mountain Resort seeks a Level I Ski Patrol Patroller for seasonal, full-time work. Duties include patrolling on skis, marking hazards, and assisting in avalanche mitigation and emergency response with guests in a safe, welcoming manner.

Applicants should be an advanced to expert skier, hold EMTB or higher medical certification and CPR, and be available holidays, weekends, and early mornings for control work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent.
• Must be a Candidate for no less than 1 full season.
• Background with rope systems, anchoring/belaying is helpful.
• Avalanche awareness classes or backcountry experience preferred.
• Advanced to Expert skier capable of performing duties on all terrain.
• Proficient in daily ski patrol operations and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Administer first aid and transport injured skiers or visitors.
• Transport and evacuate patients using the toboggan.
• Participate in avalanche reduction work.
• Carry out end-of-day and morning sweep operations.
• Follow lift evacuation procedures and use evacuation equipment.
• Enforce ski area policies and maintain safety signage and barriers.
• Provide assistance and advice to skiers and maintain public relations.
