Giants Ridge is seeking a part-time, seasonal Ski Instructor to provide exceptional skiing instruction to guests. You will teach group and private lessons, focusing on safety, technique, and enjoyment on varied terrain, while supporting the Mountain Sports School operations throughout the season.

The role emphasizes guest service, teamwork, and outdoor winter work, with PSIA/AASI standards care for ongoing skill development and safety compliance. Flexible weekend/holiday shifts are typical.

Qualificações

• Experience teaching or coaching is a plus.

Job Summary

Instructors are professionals who are committed to providing exceptional customer service by teaching the techniques of skiing to guests. Instructors are part of a team dedicated to guest safety, fun and learning. This is a part-time, seasonal position.

Job Duties

• Upholds the highest level of student safety on varied terrain with changing conditions.
• Prepares and plans lessons to meet individual skill needs.
• Instructs guests in groups and private lessons, and teaches proper technique and skills for ability levels.
• Helps guests use the right equipment and accessories and teaches guests how to load and unload lifts.
• Assists in the daily set-up and take down of the Mountain Sports School.
• Follows the Responsibility Code and ensures guest safety on varied terrain in winter weather conditions.
• Reports any injuries or incidents.
• Continually learns and updates teaching, technical and skiing skills based on PSIA/AASI standards.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Salary

15.00 USD Hourly

Skills and Knowledge

• Intermediate skill level of skiing (preferred)
• PSIA/AASI Certification (preferred But Not Required)
• Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management.
• Ability to work with guest of all ages and skill levels.
• Ability to be enthusiastic and outgoing, accepting all assignment with equal enthusiasm.
• Strong communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of guests and coworkers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by guests and coworkers in English.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Ability to work outside in all winter weather conditions for extended periods of time.
• Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25 lbs. regularly, 30-35 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Must have sight, speech and hearing abilities sufficient to learn skills, follow and provide directions.
• Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.
• Ability to work assigned weekends and holidays.
