Job summary

Chevy Chase Club in Chevy Chase, Maryland, is seeking a Skate Desk Attendant to run the Front Desk at the skate shop, oversee rental skates, handle guest billing and merchandise sales.

The role enforces club policies, supports skating sessions, performs custodial duties, and may assist with events and inventory; prior skating experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Arrive on time and in uniform for all scheduled shifts.
• Enforce all Rules and Regulations as posted at the rink. This includes very specific Club-wide rules such as our No Cell Phone Policy.
• Be the first point of contact for all calls directed to the ice rink.
• Ensuring all guests are accounted for and properly billed.
• Sale of hockey, figure skating, and team merchandise.
• In charge of rental skate disbursement and billing.
• Maintain a neat and tidy sales and rental skate display.
• Keeping the warming area, locker rooms, ice rink, and surrounding area free of trash, equipment, and other debris.
• Work hockey games, skate competitions, and rink parties, as needed
• Assist in nightly clean-up duties, as needed.
• Assist in monthly inventory counts.
• Assist in snow removal.
• Constant surveillance of the Club’s members and guests during the hours of general skating...
• Guards must maintain a safe skating environment at all times, making sure club members and guests follow the posted skating rules. Not every rule can be posted, but common sense should prevail in all situations.
• Evaluate injured persons, apply First Aid and immediately contact supervisor.
• Perform general cleaning of public areas, including the players boxes, grounds around the rink, including the lobby, and locker rooms.
• Guards should be clearly identified, wearing a bright-colored jacket. This will identify the guard as an employee.
