Job summary

City of Concord's General Services Department - Douglas N. Everett Arena is seeking an Arena Attendant to assist with public skating sessions, manage skate rentals, and provide customer service in the arena pro shop.

Responsibilities include patrolling the ice for safety, assisting injured skaters, handling cash at the front office, and helping with cleaning after sessions. Typical shifts are varied, including weekends and holidays.

TYPICAL WORK SHIFT/SCHEDULE: Varied

SALARY RANGE: $13.76 - $16.48 DOQ

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Arena Supervisor, assists with Public Skating Sessions and working in the arena pro shop which includes patrolling the ice, interacting with skaters, helping injured skaters, skate rentals and retail sales.

TYPICAL WORK SHIFT/SCHEDULE: Saturday's 11:0 Am to 1:30 PM Sunday's 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Holiday's - Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, December Holiday Week; New Year's Day, February vacation week 11:00 to 1:30 PM

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Help collect money at front office
• Patrol the Ice during skating sessions ensuring the safety of the skaters

• 1st one on the ice - Last one off the ice

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education and Experience:

• Good skating ability

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED:

• Cash Register
• Skates
• Cleaning Equipment such as brooms, etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in an ice arena where the employee may be exposed to cold temperatures.

Work is performed in a noisy place.
