Job summary

RHI Magnesita is seeking a Sizing Plant Operator to operate production equipment in the MgO and HPS plants, monitor performance, and maintain accurate production records. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork in a fully on-site setting in York, PA.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate production machinery and, after training, the mobile equipment used by the department.
• Ability to use computers to record production information and material transfers.
• Ability and willingness to cross-train in department positions.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment when addressing quality concerns.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production equipment according to SOPs and quality guidelines.
• Inspect plant equipment daily, identify issues, and report to Maintenance or supervisor.
• Inspect mobile equipment and complete daily checklists; operate after training.
• Transfer material from the Old Sizing Plant as needed.
• Collect samples to verify materials meet specifications; review lab results.
• Log daily production and material transfers using SAP, Excel, and Word.
• Communicate department activities clearly in daily updates.
• Follow safety procedures and set a positive example for safe work.
• Complete daily/weekly cleanup and preventive maintenance tasks; report problems.
• Cross-train for other duties such as BP Mixing crushing and outside work.
