Your Role:

The SIU Desk Investigator is responsible for the timely and efficient identification, investigation, and resolution of cases in the commercial TNC space. Ultimately, the value of their work will be demonstrated by both the mitigation and deterrence impact on those claims deemed questionable. Leveraging a deep understanding of emerging technologies and investigative techniques, the role will work to combat fraud effectively within the Mobilitas ecosystem.

Your Work:

  • Identification, investigation, and deterrence/mitigation of suspected insurance fraud across multiple states.
  • Conducts comprehensive case reviews and creates detailed investigative actions plans.
  • Conducts a variety of standard investigative tasks, including background/ISO research, statements, document analysis, etc.
  • Attends virtual EUOs.
  • Adept at vendor management; the role requires formulating strategies around retaining defense counsel, field & surveillance investigators, forensic engineers, or other subject matter experts.
  • Properly retains materials in accordance with federal and state rules of evidence.
  • At the conclusion of the investigation, provide unbiased recommendations to claims personnel regarding claim resolution.
  • Reports instances of suspected insurance fraud to the appropriate authorities, in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Testifies on behalf of Mobilitas in criminal or civil court as required.
  • Provide training and guidance to other team members on best practices for fraud detection.
  • Work closely with regulatory and law enforcement agencies to stay up to date with evolving trends in fraud patterns and countermeasures.
  • Complies with local, state, and federal statutes regarding proper, timely, and ethical insurance investigations.
  • Acts as a liaison with local/state/federal law enforcement personnel, industry advocates and other companies.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert (liaison) on fraud to business and industry partners.

Required Experience, Education and Skills:

  • High School Diploma/GED or 5 years of relevant work experience in claims and/or fraud investigation.
  • 5+ years of experience handling complex claims, preferably in the commercial auto environment.
  • Depending on assignment, may be required to obtain and maintain Adjuster's license (state-specific).
  • Strong investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in using industry specific technology (i.e. Lexis Nexus, ISO Claims Search).
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams, etc.).
  • Superior attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple investigations simultaneously.

What would make us excited about you:

  • Prior SIU, fraud, or criminal investigations experience.
  • BA/BS in finance, criminal justice or another related field.
  • Industry certifications, such as the CIFI, CIFA, CFE, or FCLS.
  • Knowledge of available resources (internal and external) to assist in investigations.
  • Proficiencies in accurate reporting, and training.
  • Understanding of claim best practices.
  • Actively shapes our company culture (e.g., participating in employee resource groups, volunteering, etc.).
  • Fulfills business needs, which may include investing extra time, helping other teams, etc.
