Job summary

Right at Home San Marcos seeks caregivers to provide non-health care services in clients' homes or facilities. You will assist with a safe, clean environment, and collaborate with clients and families under supervision.

You're expected to have a High School diploma, a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and auto liability insurance. Daily tasks include companionship, meal prep, and light housekeeping while following instructions in English.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• Must have a current driver’s license.
• One year experience preferred.
• Must read and write in English and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provides companionship to clients and assists with meals and a clean, safe environment.
• Maintains respectful communication with clients and family.
• Promotes safety and reports issues to the supervisor.
• Assists with daily activities and basic tasks as directed by the nurse.

Job Summary

Primary function is to provide non-health care related services to the client in their place of residence or a facility; to assist in providing a safe and clean environment, work cooperatively with client and family and share observations and problems with the supervisor. Works under the direction of a registered nurse.

Job Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma preferred.
• Licensure: Must have current drivers license. Experience: One year experience preferred.
• Skills: Must be able to read and write in English and follow written and verbal instructions in English effectively. Demonstrates interest in the welfare of ill and elderly. Hepatitis B consent/declination.
• Transportation: Reliable transportation and valid current auto liability insurance.

Environmental and Working Conditions

Works in patient’s homes in various conditions, possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases, the ability to work a flexible schedule, the ability to travel locally; some exposure to unpleasant weather.

Physical and Mental Effort

Prolonged standing and walking required. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines, to identify patient needs, to make quick decisions and meet patient/family psycho social needs. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
