Job description

Required qualifications:

  • Min 9 years with HS Diploma, 7 years with AS/AA degree, 5 years with BS/BA, or 3 years with MS/MA
  • A DoD Top Secret clearance w/ SCI eligibility is required
  • At least three years of current experience designing, installing, and configuring integrated conference room A/V and VTC systems and experience in VTC endpoint maintenance.

Peraton requires Audio Visual/Video Teleconferencing (AV/VTC) Technicians to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3. Positions are located at the SOCOM Headquarters at MacDill, AFB FL, and at the TSOC and Component locations in the United States and abroad.

This position is located at Hurlburt Field, FL.

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operates around the globe 24x7x365.

The AV/VTC Technician requires excellent problem-solving and customer service skills, as well as thorough knowledge of AV/VTC hardware, software, and network connections. VTC schedulers must have expertise in scheduling VTC sessions in VTC bridges, hands-on experience with debugging the interoperation of VTC bridges and end points, as well as experience setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting AV equipment (displays, microphones, sound boards, etc.). Must have the ability to configure, test, and troubleshoot Crestron equipment. Proficient in Crestron Studio (the Crestron Application for fully customizable programming, GUI design, engraving, device set up, and configuration). A thorough understanding of video distribution using digital media driven technologies (NVX). The Senior AV/VTC Technician shall manage and provide day-to-day support for desktop VTC units.

Primary Duties:

  • Install, configure, test, debug, and decommission desktop systems.
  • Recommend lifecycle upgrades for desktop VTCs; implement approved upgrades upon procurement.
  • Install and configure flat-panel displays, room-based VTC endpoints, projectors, and A/V equipment.
  • Proactively monitor MCU VTC sessions to ensure seamless operation for end users.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and isolate root causes of issues arising during live VTC sessions.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and manage multiple simultaneous VTC sessions, VTC bridges, and Session Border Controls.
  • Plan, install, configure, operate, maintain, secure, manage, repair, and update VTC components, including software updates, account management, and conference scheduling.
  • Recommend annual VTC system upgrades and implement approved enhancements acquired by the Government.
  • Continuously monitor VTC services for early detection of incidents, outages, or performance issues.
  • Provide remote support for deployed VTC endpoints.
  • Some positions may require shift work or a non-standard schedule to support the USSOCOM mission.
