Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM) is seeking a Site Supervisor for our San Antonio location. You will direct, administer, and manage commercial office and manufacturing facility construction, coordinating with architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

This role requires startup mindset and hands-on leadership to ensure schedule, cost, and quality targets are met. The position is 100% in-office, based in NE San Antonio with permanent site in Brooks, and does not offer remote work.

Qualifications

IEM is currently seeking a Site Supervisor for our San Antonio location and will report into the Construction Manager. In this role, the Site Supervisor will direct, administer, and manage the construction of commercial office spaces and manufacturing facilities. This position requires an individual experienced in commercial tenant improvements to join our team. The role serves as the company’s principal representative on assigned projects, overseeing all matters related to construction coordination, quality control, planning, and scheduling.

This role requires a startup mindset: the ability to operate with agility and resourcefulness, wear multiple hats, take ownership beyond defined responsibilities, and perform additional duties as needed to support the team and organization.

This position will be based temporarily in NE San Antonio while our new manufacturing plant is coming online. Our permanent location is approximately 25 minutes away at Brooks, 7515 Inner Circle Dr., San Antonio, 78235. The position is also 100% in-office and does not offer remote work.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and execute construction projects from pre-construction to project closeout
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Establishes project requirements based on contract documents, considering factors such as cost, materials, safety, schedules, and appropriate methods and procedures. Monitors project cost, quality, and schedule.
• Provides guidance and leadership, coordinating the activities of subcontractors to ensure successful project completion, including managing changes in scope, costs, and schedules.
• Manages the project using short-term schedules derived from the master schedule provided by the construction manager. Prepares scheduling reports that compare the master schedule with actual job progress, enabling proactive schedule management to meet project contract requirements.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Meets with subcontractors and vendors weekly to coordinate scheduling, approve alternates, and address material changes or shortages.
• Maintains a daily report documenting weather conditions, construction progress, type of work performed, and other pertinent information, such as delays.
• Maintains complete and up-to-date job files, including correspondence, contracts, budgets, and other documents throughout the project lifecycle.
• Accountable for the overall success of the project(s), measured by schedule adherence, subcontractor motivation, financial performance, team collaboration, and the ability to prevent and resolve conflicts.
• Prepare and present project status reports to leadership
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Oversee project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, inspections, and closeout documentation
• Project manage all new facility/construction projects in San Antonio and Austin
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Coordinate and assist in supervising 6 to 15 sub-contractors in daily construction activities for commercial office space and manufacturing facilities
• Flexible and adaptable team player who operates with agility and resourcefulness, and thrives in an often-changing environment. You will be operating with a start-up mindset and must be willing to help wherever needed - \"not my job\" is an unacceptable response.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in Project Management or equivalent, depending on field experience
• Extensive experience and knowledge of commercial construction, specifically in commercial tenant improvements
• Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize sub-contractor/employee performance
• Computer skills required (Microsoft Office Suites)
• Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, and standards, and their impact on project activities
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.)
• Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with the potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast-paced, high-growth organization
