Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Reading YMCA Childcare Director, staff oversee the daily Wyomissing Hills Before and After School Program, including planning and implementing activities, supervising staff, and coordinating program operations.

Essential Functions

• Supervise 4-8 program employees
• Maintain documentation for participants and staff
• Coordinate hours, needs, and staffing schedule of the program
• Assist with program promotion within the service area
• Develop additional middle school programs, special events, and fundraising activities
• Stay informed of current and future middle school program trends
• Understand all YMCA programs and effectively interpret the YMCA's mission to the community

• Ability to recruit and manage staff and volunteers

• Understanding of YMCA organizational structure and mission
• Education requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or human services, or
• Bachelor's with 30 credit hours in relevant fields and 1 year of experience, or
• Associate's degree in relevant fields with 2 years of experience, or
• Associate's with 30 credit hours and 3 years of experience

Physical Demands

This role involves physical activities such as walking, standing, bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and handling items weighing up to 100 lbs, performed frequently or continuously as specified.
