Job Description:

Experienced Landscape Foreman Rockology Utah is a growing sitework and landscape company serving the commercial and residential sector with a track record of excellent performance and strong company culture. The Foreman manages all equipment, labor, and materials on assigned projects to achieve timely and profitable completion. An ideal candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills; with strong communication, leadership, and professional client customer service interactions.

Summary of Functions:

A rock setting and landscape project foreman troubleshoots routine issues that occur on the job site. In addition to ensuring safety rules are always followed, they develop work schedules based upon the availability of employees or contractors and weather conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Daily you’ll have direct supervision of your crew and could include subcontractors on one or more sites
  2. Assist Field Supervisor, Project Managers and Operations Manager in managing projects according to design, budget, quality, and schedule
  3. Effectively and efficiently manage production on multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
  4. Provide technical assistance, including interpretation of drawings, recommendations of construction methods and equipment
  5. Inspect work in-progress and completed to ensure compliance with contract, codes and specifications
  6. Maintain good relationships with internal personnel and external resources including clients, subcontractors, suppliers, Architects/Engineers, etc.
  7. Develop quality team members; provide quality control and support
  8. Implement and enforce safety and health rules and standards
  9. Build and manage detailed short-term schedules in partnership with Field Supervisor, Project Managers, and Operations Manager ensuring needed resources are available on time and all activities take place on or ahead of schedule
Job Competencies:
  1. Skilled equipment operator - small to medium rock setting equipment
  2. Supervise onsite personnel and subcontractors
  3. Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients
  4. Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications
  5. Ability to develop employees that can grow within the company while ensuring they achieve their career goals
  6. Ability to use automatic level, GPS equipment, and laser
  7. Ability to read and understand site plans
  8. Knowledge of soil conditions
Quality Control of Job Site:
  1. Assist with project planning for job sites
  2. Conduct before and after inspections of site
  3. Make determination on feasibility and timing of customer requests
  4. Perform pruning and weed control and other operations as needed
  5. Assist crew in completion of required tasks
  6. Coordinate materials and delivery of materials with vendors, landscape manager and crews
Employee Supervision:
  1. Implement schedule set by Landscape Manager
  2. Oversee proper safety equipment and personal protective equipment usage and practice
  3. Conduct on the job training
  4. Prioritize the day’s work list and assign duties to crew members
Client Communication:
  1. Proactively address questions or issues
  2. Review site with client
  3. Update client on status of site
  4. Suggest improvements and potential upsell
Requirements:
  1. Minimum of 5 years rock setting experience and 2 years Foreman role preferred
  2. Minimum of 2 years landscape experience preferred
  3. Experience in the commercial excavation field
  4. Strong leadership qualities
  5. Experience supervising multiple sites
  6. Deadline and detail oriented
  7. A valid U.S. Driver's License and clean DMV record
  8. Must be available to work overtime, nights, weekends, and Holidays when necessary
  9. Work in extreme (hot and cold) weather conditions safely
  10. Lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a non-consistent basis
  11. CDL with ability to drive Skid Steers and mid-to heavy equipment - Will assist to obtain CDL for the right candidate
Desired Skills and Abilities:
  1. Broad understanding of landscape industry; specific expertise in earthwork and utilities
  2. Familiarity with drawings, blueprints, specifications, and terms and conditions of project requirements
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skill
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25-$30/hour
