Job summary

Ritsema Associates is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead carpenters and laborers on commercial construction projects. Strong leadership, planning, and communication are essential to coordinate with general contractors and internal teams.

The role requires deep knowledge of drywall framing, blueprint interpretation, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. This full‑time position offers hands‑on training, career growth, and year‑round work.

Qualifications

• Knows drywall and metal stud framing techniques, tools and materials.
• Able to read blueprints and project specifications.

• OSHA 30 Hour certification, supplied by the company.
• Must provide and maintain personal hand tools (tools provided as needed).
• Previous foreman/lead installer or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily on‑site operations to meet timelines and budgets.
• Conduct startup and planning meetings with project team.
• Run daily huddles, assign tasks, and monitor progress.
• Evaluate crew performance and adjust as needed.
• Schedule crews and manage labor needs across sites.
• Record labor hours and track equipment usage.
• Coordinate material, equipment, and scaffolding orders.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized jobsite.
• Serve as on‑site contact with general contractor’s team.
• Resolve scheduling issues on site and attend progress meetings.
• Document extra work and obtain field work orders for sign‑offs.
• Oversee equipment inventory and return assets promptly.

Compensation

$25 – $35 per hour.
Sign on bonus of $2000 included.

Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead field laborers and carpenters on commercial construction projects. This role requires strong leadership, planning, and communication skills, along with the ability to coordinate effectively with general contractors and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily on-site operations to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Conduct startup meetings with the Superintendent, Estimator, and Project Manager to review labor needs, special orders, and project scope.
• Facilitate daily huddles and toolbox talks to set goals, assign tasks, and monitor progress
• Evaluate team performance and adjust plans based on daily outcomes.
• Manage crew scheduling and communicate labor needs in advance
• Accurately record and track all labor hours.
• Anticipate material, equipment, and scaffolding needs and place orders through the office
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite
• Serve as the primary on-site contact for the general contractor’s Foreman or Project Manager
• Resolve scheduling issues directly on-site when possible
• Attend weekly progress meetings and represent the company professionally
• Document all extra work and obtain signed field work orders before starting
• Track all equipment delivered to the jobsite and ensure timely return of company‑owned or rented items
• Request periodic equipment inventory sheets and reconcile with on-site inventory
• Coordinate job closeout with the Superintendent and arrange for material and equipment pickup
• Lead by example in safety, professionalism, and craftsmanship

• Must provide and maintain personal hand tools (power and specialty tools provided)
• Previous experience as a foreman, lead installer, or similar supervisory role

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs regularly.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, twisting, and climbing ladders.
• Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Must pass a pre‑employment physical and drug screen.

Travel Requirements

• Reliable transportation required to travel between job sites
