Job summary

Insight Global's client seeks a Site Superintendent for a federal project at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, focusing on mechanical systems. You will supervise field construction, ensure schedule, budget, and quality, and coordinate with subcontractors.

Work with the Project Manager to develop means and methods, support Quality Control, assemble O&M submittals and as-built docs, and lead safety and site meetings with subcontractors and client reps.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating and supervising construction projects in industrial or federal settings.
• Site superintendent or foreman level experience.
• Strong mechanical/HVAC background.
• Excellent interpersonal and supervision skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic Windows.
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances for assigned projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist PM in developing Quality Control plans.

• Assist with creation of as-built documentation.
• Enforce safety requirements and SSHO functions if required.
• Schedule and plan work tasks; monitor progress with updates.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts with PM.
• Coordinate inspections, verifications, tests with the client.
• Participate in regular project/site meetings with subcontractors and client reps.
• Direct and coordinate subcontractor activities.

Job description

Our client is seeking a Site Superintendent to join their federal team for a project at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in support of work related to mechanical systems.

Day to Day:

• Supervise the field construction process of assigned projects in accordance with the plans and specifications, to ensure that each phase of the work is completed on schedule, within the budget, and with the quality workmanship expected by the company and the customer
• Supervise, inspect, review, record, and report on all site construction-related activity, ensuring that the assigned subcontractors perform their work on schedule. May supervise one or more projects simultaneously.
• Understand and develop means and methods for the construction/installation requirements of the assigned projects (in conjunction with Project Manager).
• Assist Project Manager in the development of Quality Control plans.
• Compile Operations and maintenance documents and assemble into operation and maintenance submittals.
• Assist in the creation of as-built documentation.
• Assist with quality control functions per contract (COE) requirements (submittal reviews, daily reports, preparatory meetings and other quality control program features) to ensure project document controls are in compliance with contract requirements.
• Enforce, facilitate and follow Company and contract safety requirements. Assist with SSHO functions per company standard practices and per contract (COE) requirement if required per the position.

• Prepare budgets and forecasts (in conjunction with Project Manager)
• Coordinate inspections, verifications, tests, and other contractual requirements with client.
• Participate in regular project/site meetings with subcontractors, architects, engineers, client representatives and other groups.
• Direct and coordinate subcontractor activities.
• Is the primary management team member on the site on a day-to-day basis to identify and correct issues or deficiencies and/or elevate issues and deficiencies up the management chain to Project Manager and/or regional management.
• Conducts self-study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company's product lines. Completes certifications as required by the company.

Must Haves:

• Project coordination and supervision of construction projects in the industrial or federal construction industry.
• Site Superintendent or Foreman level experience
• Strong Mechanical/HVAC background
• Excellent interpersonal skills for employee supervision and client interface.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic Windows environment
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances at level required for assigned projects (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.)

• Experience working with project scope of $1 million or larger
• Associate degree in electronic or mechanical systems, or equivalent work experience
