Job summary

SLB seeks a Site Services Engineer to serve as the primary on-site SLB representative for data center construction. You will coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure factory readiness, logistics support, and timely issue resolution across US projects.

The role involves deployments to client sites, leading or supporting on rotating shifts, and maintaining safety and quality standards throughout project execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field is required.
  • Experience with hyperscaler contractors or data center construction is preferred.
  • Knowledge of on-site logistics and safety standards is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary on-site SLB representative, coordinating with client, GC, subs, and operations.
  • Deploy to project sites for 2–4 week assignments, leading or supporting rotating shifts.
  • Manage on-site delivery and logistics documentation, tracking parts and coordinating replacements.
  • Lead quality triage, assess SLB responsibility, drive resolution and closure.

Position: Site Services Engineer

Location: Based in Houston, TX or Shreveport, LA (Rotational deployment to Client sites within US)

Reports to: DCN Field Services Tech Support Manager

Job Overview

The Site Services Engineer serves as the primary on‑site SLB representative for the construction of data centers, coordinating across clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely factory readiness, logistics support, and issue resolution. They lead or support deployments, manage the triage process for quality issues, supervise troubleshooting, and uphold safety and quality standards throughout project execution.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary on‑site SLB representative, facilitating coordination between the Client, General Contractor, Sub‑Contractors, Manufacturing Facility, and Operations teams.
  • Deploy to project sites for 2–4‑week assignments, acting as lead or support on rotating shifts.
  • Manage on‑site delivery and logistics documentation, including tracking and coordinating missing or replacement parts.
  • Lead quality triage process by verifying priority levels, assessing SLB responsibility, and driving resolution and closure.
  • Perform basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting; supervise contractor‑led remedial actions without direct physical involvement.
  • Maintain daily reporting and participate in scheduled communication and meeting cadences.
  • Support root‑cause investigations with SLB Quality and recommend continuous improvement initiatives for workflows or product design.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and timely factory readiness through proactive issue resolution and coordination.
  • Adhere to HSE policies, wear required PPE and maintain up‑to‑date safety training certifications.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
  • Industry Experience: Hyperscaler Contractor, Data Center Construction, Electrical – Subcontracting, Mechanical Subcontracting, Field Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Production Manager, Quality Engineer, Maintenance Engineer.
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Strong Client Communication: Proven ability to engage with clients professionally, ensuring clear, effective, and solution‑oriented dialogue.
  • Contractor Oversight: Experience in managing third‑party contractors, including performance monitoring, compliance, and coordination.
  • Logistics Coordination: Skilled in planning, organizing, and executing logistics operations to support project timelines and deliverables.
  • Issue Resolution for Non‑Conforming Products: Ability to identify, assess, and remediate product discrepancies to maintain quality standards.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Proficient in diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical system issues in a fast‑paced environment.
