Job summary

Description

CenCore is seeking a Site Security Manager (SSM) to oversee day-to-day security operations at a cleared, 24/7 data center construction site. This role helps ensure compliance with federal, state, local, customer, and contract‑specific security requirements while maintaining a secure environment for personnel, property, and sensitive assets.

The SSM provides direct supervision to unarmed security personnel, supports the Campus Security Manager, and serves as a key site leader for operational readiness, audits, inspections, post order compliance, training, documentation, and daily security performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Campus Security Manager with execution of site security services and act as the designated backup when required.
  • Supervise, train, coach, and support unarmed security personnel assigned to the site.
  • Ensure security personnel consistently follow post orders, approved procedures, customer requirements, and site‑specific security protocols.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, orientation, training, development, and retention of security staff.
  • Verify that security personnel maintain required licensing, training, and compliance with applicable federal, state, local, customer and contract requirements.
  • Maintain accountability, maintenance, and security of supplier‑provided equipment, tools, expendable supplies, and assigned security resources.
  • Ensure personnel are trained and competent in site security systems, access control processes, equipment, emergency procedures, and response protocols.
  • Maintain accurate training records, incident logs, activity reports, post documentation, inspection records, and other required security documentation.
  • Prepare for and support internal and third‑party audits, including unannounced inspections, by enforcing approved security controls and procedures.
  • Maintain standardized processes and audit‑ready documentation to support compliance and operational readiness.
  • Serve as Acting Campus Security Manager as needed to cover staffing gaps, operational needs, or designated backup responsibilities.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Site Security Manager, security supervisor, physical security lead, or equivalent supervisory security role.
  • Active Top Secret clearance required.
  • U.S. citizenship required; must be able to provide a valid U.S. Passport Book or Passport Card.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising unarmed security personnel in a cleared, high‑security, government, data center, construction, or critical infrastructure environment.
  • Strong knowledge of physical security operations, access control systems, site security procedures, and security documentation standards.
  • Proven ability to maintain audit readiness, accurate documentation, and compliance in high‑security environments.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to train personnel, enforce post orders, support performance consistency, and maintain operational readiness.
  • Ability to use security systems, access control tools, documentation platforms, and standard business technology.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including site startup activities, shift coverage coordination, and after‑hours support as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting cleared data center construction, secure facilities, government sites, or critical infrastructure environments.
  • Experience supporting internal, customer, or third‑party audits and inspections.
  • Experience with security staffing, scheduling, post coverage, onboarding, training records, incident reporting, and documentation control.
  • Knowledge of access control, visitor processing, badge control, surveillance systems, alarm systems, or physical security technologies.
  • Experience serving as a backup or acting manager for site security operations.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed on‑site at a cleared, 24/7 data center construction site.
  • Role may require walking, standing, and moving throughout security posts, access control points, controlled spaces, construction areas, and site operations areas.
  • May be exposed to construction site conditions, including noise, dust, weather, uneven surfaces, and other active‑site hazards.
  • Must comply with all site safety, security, access control, personal protective equipment, customer, and contract requirements.
  • Schedule may vary based on site startup activities, staffing needs, audits, inspections, emergencies, and 24/7 operational requirements.
