Job summary

The Tillamook County Creamery Association is seeking a Site Sanitation Technician to maintain clean and sanitized production and non-production areas at our Tillamook facility. Forklift operation and adherence to safety protocols are required to support daily plant activities.

You will work with a team to keep offices, labs and break areas stocked and clean, monitor trash and recyclables, and attend trainings to stay current on sanitation standards and equipment handling.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors and the public.
• Team player who can interact with staff at all levels.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects.
• Excellent time-management and ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Licenses/certifications: Forklift and Scissor Lift Certification required or able to earn upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Keep work areas, tools and equipment clean and sanitized at all times.
• Clean and stock offices, labs and break areas; clean and scrub floors in warehouse and hallways.
• Clean and stock restrooms.
• Monitor, pick up and compact trash and recycle all plant-generated waste.
• Clean and stock hand sinks and drains in the milk receiving dock area.
• Operate forklift, cardboard compactor, garbage compactor, floor scrubbing equipment and scissor lift as needed.
• Attend meetings and training.
• All other duties as assigned.

What you will do:

The Site Sanitation Technician will complete general cleaning and sanitizing as needed for both non-production and production areas. Must be able to work with little or no supervision and be able to operate a forklift

Here’s a day in the life:

• Keep work areas, tools and equipment clean and sanitized at all times.
• Clean and stock with appropriate supplies all offices, labs and break areas; clean and/or scrub all warehouse and hallway floors.
• Clean and stock restrooms.
• Monitor, pick up and compact all trash on grounds and all trash generated in the plant and monitor, pick up and recycle all cardboard generated in the plant.
• Clean and stock with appropriate supplies all hand sinks in all areas and clean drains on milk receiving dock.
• Clean and monitor all footbath mats and foot foamer units in plant; pressure wash exterior areas; clean outside and under all dock door plates.
• Clean all exterior windows; clean and/or sanitize all man doors, roll-up doors, dock doors, handrails, fixtures, overhead pipes, storage racking, storage racking areas and surface areas in plant. Operate forklift, cardboard compactor, garbage compactor, floor scrubbing equipment and scissor lift as needed.
• Attend meetings and training.
• All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Ability to communicate effectively and to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public.
• Must be a team player and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the company.
• Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Licenses and/or Certifications: Have or able to earn Forklift and Scissor Lift Certification upon hire.

Physical requirements:

• Must be able to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Standing, raising and lowering 45lb from/to waist to a height of 60"
• Standing, lifting and carrying 45lb from floor for a distance of 6 ft
• Standing, raising from floor to waist and lowering 45lb
