Seeking experineced Safety Representative

This role will support a major water-treatment facility project for the Santa Clara Valley Water District in San Jose. This role requires an experienced safety professional with a strong background in large-scale industrial or construction environments and specific experience at water treatment plants.

The successful candidate will lead and coordinate safety activities, help ensure compliance with applicable requirements, and work closely with project leadership, contractors, and field teams to promote a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor project safety programs, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct jobsite inspections, audits, and hazard assessments; track findings through resolution.
• Support pre-task planning, job hazard analyses, and safe-work planning for construction and facility operations.
• Advise project teams and contractors on hazard controls and safe work practices.
• Lead or support incident reporting, investigations, and corrective-action follow-up.

Required Qualifications

• CHST certification (Construction Health and Safety Technician).
• At least 15 years of industry experience in safety, construction, industrial operations, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience focused on water treatment plants, including work on facilities or projects valued at more than $50 million.
• At least 7 years of experience as a Safety Manager at a major facility.
• Demonstrated experience leading safety programs in complex, high-risk environments.
• Strong communication, training, inspection, and incident-investigation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• CSP certification (Certified Safety Professional).
• Experience supporting large water infrastructure projects or public-sector clients.
• Familiarity with contractor safety oversight and coordination across multiple trades.

Certification Requirement

Candidates must hold an active CHST certification. A CSP certification is preferred.
