The ideal candidate has a Safety background with 3+ years overseeing electrical contractor scopes, OSHA 30 hours, and strong technical writing. This on-site role emphasizes collaboration, training, and proactive risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety or BCSP credential (CHST or STS-C).
• Minimum 3 years of experience overseeing electrical contractor scope on healthcare or data center projects.
• OSHA 30-hour certification must be current within the past 3 years.
• Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation.
• Strong technical writing ability.
• Ability to lead and train groups of 25–30 people.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work across teams.
• Ability to adapt to changing environments and work independently.
• Ability to interact with all levels of Miller Electric Company.
• High energy and self-motivated.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct periodic safety surveys and inspections.
• Conduct hazard analyses of project operations.
• Assist in updating the company safety manual.
• Develop risk assessments and Job Task Analyses.
• Coordinate safety training for field personnel.
• Advise on safe placement and job assignments.
• Maintain accident record keeping.
• Assist in investigations of accidents and injuries.
• Foster a team environment for corrective actions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Miller Electric has an immediate need for a Site Safety Manager in Richmond, VA

Compensation Range: $47.00/hr to $54.23/hr

The ideal candidate would have previous experience working with an electrical contractor on a data center construction project.

The Site Safety Manager reports to the Senior Safety Manager. Responsibilities are focused on maintaining the safest possible workplace and OSHA Compliance. The Safety Manager will be hands-on and interact with our field personnel and management team daily.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, standards, policies, and/or procedures.
• Provides technical expertise to managers and supervisors in establishing techniques and procedures for the elimination or control of unsafe behaviors, environments, and hazards.
• Plans and conducts periodic and unscheduled surveys and inspections of Miller Electric Company projects.
• Conduct hazard analyses of project operations
• Assist in the update and maintenance of the companysafetymanual
• Develop and conduct risk assessments and Job Task Analyses for relevant tasks
• Coordinates with operating activities to providesafetytraining and ensuressafetyawareness throughout Miller Electric Company.
• Work with personnel to assuresafeplacement and job assignment
• Assist in the maintenance of accident record keeping
• Provide technical assistance with the investigation of accidents, incidents, injuries, and/or illnesses.
• Foster a team environment when advising on needed corrections
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, or a BCSP credential (CHST or STS-C)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience overseeing electrical contractor scope of work. This experience must include working either healthcare or data center electrical construction projects.
• OSHA 30-hour certification within the past 3 years
• Understanding of Workers’ Compensation
• Strong technical writing ability
• A strong supporter of collaboration in an effort to gather the best solutions
• Ability to address and train groups of 25-30
• Ability to adapt to a changing work environment
• Ability to act independently with minimal daily direction
• Ability to work closely with all levels of Miller Electric Company
• High energy and self-motivated
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position.

Preferred

• Certified OSHA Outreach Trainer for the Construction Industry (preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft 365
