Job summary

Prime Controls is seeking a Site Safety Manager to lead onsite safety efforts and administer ES&H programs for client sites. The role includes generating permits, audits, and safety observations, mentoring staff, and ensuring adherence to safety standards.

The position requires industrial safety experience, relevant certifications (OSHA/CHST/CSP), and the ability to travel to various sites, including semiconductor or data center environments. Full-time with a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

  • CHST/OHST/CSP/ASP/GSP designation from a safety board or OSHA 30 in last 3 years.
  • OSHA 501/500 certificates valid (502/500 equivalence).
  • 3–5 years in industrial, electrical safety around critical infrastructure construction.
  • 2-year ES&H degree and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead onsite safety efforts for customer site and administer ES&H programs.
  • Observe practices, mentor workforce, and enforce Stop Work Authority.
  • Generate permits, audits, toolboxes, and safety observations; close out.
  • Conduct health and safety program audits and incident investigations.
  • Attend safety meetings and communicate with project teams.
  • Complete additional safety projects as assigned.

Overview

What You Will Do

As a Site Safety Manager you will be primarily responsible for onsite safety efforts for the Prime Control’s customer site, as well as administration and execution of Prime Controls' ES&H Programs as contracted by scope.

A Typical Day at Prime Controls

  • Promote Prime Controls' award‑winning “Safety Culture” and “Standards”.
  • Observe safe work practices and present opportunities for improvement. Mentor employees and encourage their safe work practices, following Stop Work Authority.
  • Generate, observe, inspect, and close job permits, audits, toolboxes, work safe observations, orientations.
  • Perform health and safety program auditing.
  • Assist in incident investigations and emergency response.
  • Attend safety meetings and convey information to the project team and corporate.
  • Complete other projects as assigned.

What You Will Bring

The Basic

  • One of the following: CHST, OHST, STS, CSP, ASP, GSP designation from the Board of Certified Safety Professional or an OSHA 30 completed within the last 3 years
  • OSHA 501 / 500 valid certificate of completion (a valid 502 is a valid 500).
  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial, electrical, safety around facility critical infrastructure construction.
  • 2-year degree in ES&H related field
  • Able to pass a 7-year background check
  • Experience working with a large subcontractor force
  • Experience in semiconductor or data center environment
  • Applicable working knowledge of TRIR and EMR
  • Exhibit integrity, flexibility, initiative, and adherence to company policies and programs always
  • Clear and concise communications, both written and oral
  • Ability to effectively work with in all levels or divisions on‑site, in meetings and within Prime Controls
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and emails
  • Willingness to travel

The Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in ES&H related field
