Ameresco, Inc. currently has a new opportunity in Augusta and Atlanta, Georgia for an experienced Site Safety Manager to oversee daily construction and project operations and ensure a safe, healthy, accident-free work environment.

These projects are with Veterans Medical Center and Veterans Integration Service network doing building upgrades over the next 5 years. Responsibilities include developing site safety plans, conducting audits and trainings, ensuring PPE compliance, and coordinating

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health, Engineering or related discipline OR 5 years related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial, government, or industrial safety management.
  • EM-385 Certification.
  • Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, 30-hour Construction Safety and industry.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Site-Specific Safety Plans and AHAs for assigned projects.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety Policies and adopted Standards.
  • Ensure PPE meets OSHA/EPA requirements and workers are trained.
  • Conduct safety audits of project sites and follow-up on items.
  • Lead safety training for project personnel.
  • Perform project safety inspections and corrective actions.
  • Review subcontractor safety qualifications and attend Pre-Construction Meetings.
  • Develop and evaluate activity hazard reviews.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA and Ameresco standards.

Position Overview:

Ameresco currently has a new opportunity in Augusta and Atlanta, Georgia for an experiencedSite Safety Manager to oversee daily construction and project operations and ensure a safe, healthy, accident-free work environment. These projects are with Veterans Medical Center and Veterans Integration Service network doing building upgrades over the next 5 years.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the Site-Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analysis for assigned Business Unit projects.
  • Ensure compliance to all Safety Policies and adopted Standards.
  • Ensure personal protective equipment meets applicable OSHA/EPA requirements and employees are trained on proper use.
  • Conduct Safety Audits of assigned project sites ensuring work is being accomplished safely and occupational health is not compromised.
  • Safety training of all personnel assigned to project.
  • Conduct project safety inspections with follow-up inspections of any open items.
  • Review Subcontractor safety qualifications and attend Pre-Construction Meetings.
  • Creation and evaluating activity hazard reviews.
  • Regulatory compliance with OSHA and Ameresco standards and conducts accident and incident investigations.
  • Development and Implementation of Corrective Action Plans.
  • Work with project supervision to create safety solutions to safety problems.
  • Foster and maintain a positive safety culture for the project personnel.
  • Maintain all safety certifications as required by contracts.
  • Conduct quarterly safety meetings for Project Staff.
  • Produce Safety Reports of activities performed.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, co-workers, supervisors, and management.
  • Lead Incident/accident Investigations.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health, Engineering or related discipline OR a minimum of 5 years related experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree in addition to a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial, government, or industrial safety management.
  • EM-385 Certification.
  • Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, 30-hour Construction Safety and industry.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience developing, implementing, and managing Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
  • Ability to review confidential US security information.
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • Ability to manage positive and effective interpersonal, functional, organizational relationships with all parties.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and computer communication and presentation skills.Current CHST, CSP, ASP, CSHO, or equivalent professional safety certification.
  • Experience working under USACE, NAVFAC, AFCEC, or other Department of Defense construction contracts.
  • Experience with electronic safety management systems and digital reporting
  • Valid Driver License issued by state of residence and in good standing.
  • Ability to travel and provide on-call response required.
