Job summary

Hanwha Qcells USA Corp is seeking a Site Safety Manager for evergreen solar and BESS EPC projects across the United States. This is a field-based, on-site role with 8–12 month project assignments and 8:00am–5:00pm local hours; overtime may be required.

Travel is 100% nationwide and relocation to project sites is expected. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. and visa sponsorship is not available at this time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of general construction experience.
• 2 years managerial experience preferred.
• 3 years of solar industry experience preferred.
• Operational knowledge of construction safety, OSHA, ANSI, and other applicable standards, regulations, laws, and procedures.
• OSHA 30/510 certification required.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Work with site EPC personnel to implement and manage a proactive behavior-based approach to Health & Safety.
• Supports the development of H&S policies, programs and procedures to establish a culture of health and safety.
• Ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
• Continuously evaluating employees and contractors practices to assess and reduce risks for the benefit of employees and contractors.
• Lead accident or mishap investigations to identify causes and recommend improvement opportunities and preventive and corrective measures.
• Visit work areas to conduct safety audits on personnel, equipment, materials and adherence to work requirements. Perform periodic safety and health risk assessments and compliance audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Site Safety Manager: 100% Nationwide Travel

Join Hanwha Qcells USA Corp and support the build of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the U.S. This is an evergreen posting for future project needs across our solar and BESS EPC portfolio. We are actively building a pipeline of qualified Site Safety Managers to support upcoming work.

IMPORTANT: Travel & Relocation Requirement

• 100% nationwide travel is required
• You will relocate to project sites for 8–12 months at a time
• This is a fully on-site, field-based role
• Candidates must be comfortable with a project-to-project travel lifestyle

SUMMARY

This is an evergreen opportunity supporting upcoming solar and BESS EPC projects across the U.S. Site Safety Managers are placed on project sites for the duration of the build (typically 8–12 months) and then transition to the next project.

This is onsite, working on the project site, working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm local time or other working hours the site may establish. Overtime and weekend working hours will be required as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Have an operational knowledge of construction safety, OSHA, ANSI, and other applicable standards, regulations, laws, and procedures
• OSHA 30/510 required
• Must have a valid current driver license

EXAMPLE OF PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.)
• Able to walk or move continuously while carrying 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs
• Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
