Job summary

Yonkers Contracting Company is seeking a qualified Site Safety Coordinator with 3-5 years of Heavy Highway/Civil, Utility, and MPT work. The role focuses on implementing site-specific safety programs, training, and enforcing safety plans on project sites in the New York area.

The candidate will conduct orientations, audits, and toolbox talks, and will coordinate with project teams to maintain a culture of safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have Site Safety Coordinator Certification and OSHA 30.
• 40 Hour Hazwopper certification required.
• 3–5 years of construction safety experience.
• Strong knowledge of state and government safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Implement site-specific safety program.
• Monitor adherence to site safety and health plan by employees and subcontractors.
• Conduct site safety orientation for all site personnel.
• Coordinate worker training and maintain training records.
• Perform hazard recognition and JHA development, and ensure PPE usage.

SITE SAFETY COORDINATOR

Yonkers Contracting Company is seeking a qualified Site Safety Coordinator with 3-5 years of Heavy Highway/Civil, Utility, and MPT work. Safety is a Shared Responsibility and Yonkers Contracting Company, has an opportunity for a Site Safety Coordinator to join our team!

Responsibilities

• Effectively implement site-specific safety program
• Monitor employees & subcontractors’ adherence to the site-specific safety & health plan
• Conduct site-safety orientation for all employees assigned to the site
• Conduct and/or coordinate worker training, maintain training records
• Hazard anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control through the development of JHA’s
• Ensure proper use of personal safety protective equipment
• Conduct daily safety inspection and weekly Safety Toolbox Talks
• Investigate and report all accidents
• Maintain all safety related documentation
• Perform audits: inspect project site(s), MPT set-up, and site equipment, ensure compliance documentation
• Provide technical guidance and coaching
• Support project specific safety efforts and promote Yonkers Contracting Safety First culture

Qualifications

• Site Safety Experience with owners such as; CTDOT, NYS DOT, MTA, FHWA
• Site Safety Coordinator Certification
• OSHA 30
• 40 Hour Hazwopper certification
• 3-5 years of construction safety experience
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Thorough knowledge of state/government safety regulations
• Experience with MPT Set-up in accordance with MUTCD and Work Zone Safety
• Computer Skills are essential – Word and Excel
• Must have valid driver’s license (will require authorization for a motor vehicle report)
• Ability to take direction, prioritize, execute, and problem solve in a high-pressure environment; must be highly organized and work effectively within given time constraints
• Demonstrate effective communication skills, capable of supporting multiple projects, interpersonal skills. Exhibits positivity, passion, integrity, and responsibility
• Self-motivated; team oriented with collaborative work style
• Willing to work nights and weekends when required
