As a Site Safety Coordinator, you will ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety standards; providing the knowledge and skills to help generate a positive health and safety culture and to ensure that occupational risk is properly controlled. In this position, you must be highly organized, thorough, and detail-oriented with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. You must have the ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels as well as with customers and vendors.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with supervision on project safety implementation at all levels of the jobsite.
  • Conducts regular walk-through safety inspections of construction areas & identify safety situations that require immediate action.
  • Conducts staff and craft safety trainings. Provide site specific orientation, safety assessments & coaching, assist personnel with completion of JSAs, PSPs & other safety meetings.
  • Investigate any accident, incident and near miss occurring on the job site & provide assistance to supervision to complete associated reports on time.
  • Interact with general contractors, owners, other trades, and customer in an appropriate manner.
  • Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five years of safety experience and or related education specializing in Project Safety, with three year including on-site construction Environmental Health and Safety responsibilities.
  • Provide documentation of completed OSHA 30 training within the past 3 years.
  • Current emergency first aid, CPR, and AED training within two years.
  • Working knowledge & experience in electrical, silica awareness, fall protection, scaffolds, excavation, confined space, crane/equipment operations.
  • General knowledge in Loss Control, Claims Management & State workers compensation laws requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of construction safety work rules and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations including, OSHA Part 1910 and 1926 Safety requirements, NEC, NFPA and ANSI standards for construction.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly verbally and in writing.
  • Intermediate PC skills with experience in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook are required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial electrical industry.
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with specialization in business, risk management, safety administration, or other closely related discipline is a plus.
  • Previous field civil-related craft experience: e.g., electrician, ironworker, etc., is preferred.
  • OSHA 510 is a plus.
  • Authorized OSHA 500 Construction Outreach Trainer is a plus but nor required.
