Job summary

LANXESS seeks a Reliability Engineer to lead site reliability and Mechanical Integrity efforts for fixed and rotating equipment. You will partner with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance to ensure safety, compliance, and optimized performance across asset lifecycles.

The role emphasizes expertise in metallurgy, vibration, lubrication, and failure mechanisms, while driving preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering field is required.
  • 5+ years of reliability or chemical manufacturing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial fixed and rotating equipment.
  • Familiarity with API, ASME, and applicable industry standards.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own and enhance the site reliability and Mechanical Integrity (PSM) programs to meet safety, compliance, and performance targets.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (API, ASME, RAGAGEP).
  • Improve reliability and maintainability of equipment, utilities, and safety systems.
  • Develop and optimize Asset Maintenance Plans, including preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Analyze asset performance metrics (OEE, utilization, remaining life) and CMMS data; lead root cause failure analyses.
  • Provide technical expertise in fixed and rotating equipment, metallurgy, vibration, lubrication, and failure mechanisms.
  • Support design, commissioning, and acceptance of new or modified installations to ensure reliability and lifecycle alignment.
  • Troubleshoot repetitive failures and support engineering solutions that improve capacity, quality, cost, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and evaluate vendors to ensure reliability standards are met.
