Job summary

IBM is seeking an IT Entry-Level Z Systems Programmer to join the Z Development & Infrastructure Hosting team. You will support mission-critical z/OS environments, assist with installation, configuration, maintenance, and provide automation to improve operational efficiency. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a Master's preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Basic understanding of operating systems, networking, and enterprise computing concepts.
• Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as REXX, Python, Java, C/C++, or similar.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of IBM Z infrastructure.
• Support z/OS operating system maintenance activities, including upgrades, service implementation, and testing.
• Monitor system performance and availability to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
• Participate in incident resolution, root cause analysis, and problem management activities.
• Develop automation and operational efficiencies using scripting and IBM tools.
