Job summary

Google LLC in Fremont, CA is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to drive architecture and execution for complex database ecosystems used in semiconductor manufacturing. You will oversee requirements, system design, development, testing, maintenance, and scalable expansion across Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, AlloyDB, Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, and Vertica.

You will apply AI/ML techniques to improve productivity and real-time analytics, and use Terraform for infrastructure automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with programming in SQL, PL/SQL or T-SQL.
• 4 years of experience in database administration and relational database development on GCP environments (Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, Spanner, Oracle, etc.).
• 3 years of experience designing and implementing analytical reports and dashboards.
• 2 years of experience building automation scripts using Python or Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, build, test, and maintain robust database applications for semiconductor manufacturing.
• Manage database administration across on-premises systems and Google Cloud Platform environments (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Vertica, PostgreSQL, AlloyDB, Cloud Spanner).
• Adhere to software engineering standards for requirement documentation, system design, implementation, and testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address business and technical requirements.
• Deliver on multiple projects with minimal direction.

You will solve ambiguous, open-ended technical challenges and establish architectural standards that extend beyond your immediate scope. You will be responsible for applying AI/ML solutions to enhance operational productivity and analytical capabilities such as real-time data analytics and using Terraform for infrastructure automation. Because of specialized facility requirements and the need for close in-person collaboration with engineering partners, this role requires working on-site at least five days per week at the Fremont facility.

Google's Raxium display group has established a revolutionary semiconductor materials display technology that enables new functionality in display products, bringing to users a closer and more natural linkage between the digital and physical realms in applications such as augmented reality (AR) and light-field display. With start-up roots and a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley, Raxium is seeking to build upon its engineering team with an aim to disrupt next-generation display markets.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
