Job summary

Google's Raxium in Fremont, CA is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to own supplier quality across critical semiconductor and micro-display materials and services.

You will lead audits, enforce QC strategies, and manage corrective actions with suppliers, collaborating with engineering, manufacturing and supply chain to deliver high-quality display technology for AR and related applications. Individual pay depends on skills and education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of supplier quality engineering experience in micro-displays or semiconductor products.
• Experience with quality improvement methods (8D, 5-Why, SCAR).

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality assessments, evaluations, qualification, and on-site audits for critical vendors and suppliers.
• Establish and enforce IQC/OQC requirements, product specs, COAs, and measurement systems.
• Drive non-conformance management, containment, and SCAR processes.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to review PFMEA and supplier PCNs.
• Monitor supplier quality metrics and drive continuous improvement.

• Manufacturing experience in semiconductor, electronic/optoelectronic components, or high-precision display technologies.

• Lead supplier quality assessments, evaluations, qualification, and on-site audits for critical Raxium vendors and semiconductor/materials suppliers (including ISO 9001, QMS, cleanroom standards, and ESD controls).
• Establish and enforce rigorous Incoming/Outgoing Quality Control (IQC/OQC) requirements, product specifications, Certificates of Analysis (COA), and measurement systems (MSA/GR&R) with suppliers.
• Drive supplier non-conformance management, material containment, and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) using structured problem-solving (8D, 5-Why, root cause and corrective actions).
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing/Supply Chain) to conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) reviews, process qualification, and review supplier Product Change Notifications (PCNs) or deviation requests.
• Monitor supplier quality metrics and performance dashboards, driving continuous quality improvement, yield optimization, and wafer/component scrap reduction with critical partners.
