Cognizant is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer in Bentonville, AR to support platform stability, observability, and automation. The role partners with cross-functional teams to design fault-tolerant systems and reduce incidents, including on-call duties after hours.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in software engineering with Java and cloud experience (Azure) and solid SRE knowledge. This onsite position emphasizes reliability, production support, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering focusing on reliability, infrastructure, and platform engineering.
• Proficiency in Java and understanding of Microservice Architecture.
• Basic understanding of MVC patterns, JDBC, and RESTful web services.
• Experience with web application frameworks.
• Ability to write clean, readable Java code.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills with production-issue history.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure).
• Solid grounding in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand environments and plan for stability.
• Design and lead fault-tolerant platform implementations with redundancy and self-healing mechanisms.
• Troubleshoot and debug software issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Improve platform stability and implement SRE best practices.
• Drive automation initiatives across infrastructure and workflows.
• Build and maintain observability dashboards for real-time visibility.
• Lead incident reduction and resolution of critical (P1/P2) issues.
• Support incident resolution and prevention during on-call rotations.
