Job summary

Charles River Associates is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to ensure our critical business services are reliable, scalable, and performant across on-premises and cloud environments. The role blends software engineering with operations to reduce manual toil through automation and improve observability.

You will partner with infrastructure, security, application, and service-delivery teams to define SLIs/SLOs, drive automation, and lead blameless postmortems, incident response, and disaster

Qualifications

• Experience with on-premises and cloud production services including incident response.
• Knowledge of SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, monitoring strategy.
• Experience with DR testing using SRM/ASR or similar.
• Strong cross-functional communication and teamwork.
• Ability to document runbooks and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain SLIs/SLOs and service ownership.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and dashboards for observability.
• Lead blameless postmortems and drive remediation actions.
• Design and launch a scalable DR testing program with tabletop and technical recovery tests.
• Contribute to reliability architecture and DR readiness for key services.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to improve production outcomes.
• Participate in on-call rotations and manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
