Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team, responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems and services in AWS GovCloud and commercial cloud environments. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver resilient, observable, and compliant solutions, applying your consultative and technical expertise to support cloud initiatives with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team, responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems and services in AWS GovCloud and commercial cloud environments. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver resilient, observable, and compliant solutions, applying your consultative and technical expertise to support cloud initiatives with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Education

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or Math
  
  

Clearance

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  
  

Onsite Requirements

• Ability to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S., including the District of Columbia (no onsite requirements)
  
  

Responsibilities

• Apply consultative and technical expertise to support cloud initiatives with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, cloud infrastructure, and security
• Deliver resilient, observable, and compliant solutions in AWS GovCloud and commercial cloud environments
• Troubleshoot and remediates software and hardware vulnerabilities with the cybersecurity team
• Perform operational and day-to-day administrative support functions, including change and problem management processes
  
  

Required Skills

• 3–5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or related roles
• Strong hands-on experience with monitoring/observability tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Grafana, and Kibana
• 1-3 years of knowledge in at least one programming language, such as Java or JavaScript
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably Jenkins
• Experience with containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Azure
• Strong knowledge of system performance, scalability, and reliability engineering best practices
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  
  

Nice To Have Skills

• Ability to track, mitigate, and remediates software and hardware vulnerabilities with the cybersecurity team
• Experience with IaC tools (e.g Terraform, Helm)
• Experience with Agile/Scrum environments
• Leadership behaviors to effectively communicate, coordinate, collaborate, and work in a visible and proactive manner across boundaries to deliver positive results
• Highly engaging, team-oriented, customer-focused, strong work ethic, and self-starting individual able to respond rapidly to a dynamic programmatic environment
