Job summary

Taskr is partnering with an enterprise client to hire an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support cloud infrastructure and customer-facing platforms. The role focuses on reliability, automation and incident response within a primarily Azure-based environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong Azure, Windows Server, networking and IaC experience (Terraform), with CI/CD tooling and scripting skills.

Qualifications

• Strong background in site reliability engineering, cloud operations or infrastructure engineering.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and Windows Server.
• Knowledge of cloud networking and security configuration.
• CI/CD tooling with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub, and IaC with Terraform.
• Scripting in PowerShell and incident management experience.

Responsibilities

• Support and optimise cloud infrastructure and customer-facing platforms.
• Monitor system health, performance and availability using observability tools.
• Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures.
• Automate repetitive tasks to improve operational efficiency.

Taskr are partnered with an enterprise client who are looking to hire an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support and optimise critical cloud infrastructure and customer-facing platforms.

This is an exciting opportunity for an infrastructure-focused engineer who enjoys troubleshooting complex technical issues, improving system reliability and automating processes within a cloud-based environment. We’re looking for someone with a strong background in Microsoft Azure, Windows Server and networking, who can help maintain resilient, secure and high-performing systems.

Day to Day:

• Supporting and maintaining cloud infrastructure and platforms.
• Monitoring system health, performance and availability using observability tools, dashboards and alerting.
• Investigating and resolving incidents, carrying out root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures.
• Managing infrastructure maintenance, including platform upgrades, patching and routine system administration.
• Identifying opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Working closely with development, security and technical operations teams to maintain service reliability.
• Contributing to infrastructure design discussions and recommending improvements to platform resilience.
• Supporting cloud-based applications, databases, networking and containerised environments.
• Participating in an out-of-hours on-call rota as part of the wider support function.

Experience Required:

We're keen to speak with candidates who have a strong background in site reliability engineering, cloud operations or infrastructure engineering, with experience across technologies such as:

• Microsoft Azure, including cloud infrastructure and managed platform services.
• Azure services such as AKS, App Services, Azure SQL, Storage and application monitoring tools.
• Windows Server administration.
• Cloud networking, connectivity and network security configuration.
• CI/CD tooling, including Azure DevOps and/or GitHub.
• Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform.
• PowerShell scripting.
• Monitoring, logging, alerting and incident management.
• Web traffic management and edge security technologies.
• Service management platforms and structured support processes.
• Routine infrastructure maintenance, upgrades and security patching.

Good to have:

• ITIL-based service management practices.
• Information security and quality management standards.
• Relevant cloud, infrastructure or vendor certifications.
