Group Details

The Middleware Kafka SRE will be responsible for the management and architectural design of middleware messaging and caching systems such as Kafka and Redis, primarily Kafka.

Tradeweb Technology jobs are fully remote. The Tradeweb Technology hub is located in our Jersey City office which can be used for team meetings and collaboration efforts. There may be days where travel to the Jersey City office is recommended for organizational off-sites.

Job Responsibilities

• Work as part of a US-based Platform Engineering team
• Take on primary ownership of on-premises Confluent Kafka and AWS MSK clusters
• Build and maintain Kafka Connect clusters to consolidate ad hoc data mirroring solutions
• Design future Kafka infrastructure and establish best practices
• Maintain other non-RDBMS middleware/caching systems
• Participate in weekly on-call rotation

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka
• Knowledge of caching middleware a strong plus (Redis)
• Knowledge of NoSQL storage systems a plus (Elasticsearch, MongoDB)
• CI/CD & Infrastructure-as-Code best practices (version control, declarative deployments of infrastructure and applications)
• Knowledge of Python programming language
• Knowledge of Ansible and Linux systems administration
• Strong pluses: Java, Golang, Terraform, working understanding of Kubernetes/containers

• The current pay range for this role if performed in the city of New York is currently $130,000 to $250,000 per year, based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of pay offered will be determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, market data, geographic location, and internal guidelines.
