Job description

About The Role

The role owns the reliability, performance, and scalability of production systems serving high traffic volumes — Kubernetes clusters, distributed services, and the infrastructure pipelines that deploy them.

You will sit on a platform team that treats operations as a software problem: building automation, eliminating toil, defining SLOs, and ensuring engineers across the organization can ship quickly without sacrificing stability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and scale Kubernetes-based infrastructure across multiple environments, including cluster provisioning, autoscaling, and capacity planning
  • Define, implement, and report on SLOs and error budgets; drive reliability decisions with engineering teams based on measurable service health
  • Build and maintain observability tooling using Prometheus, Grafana, and distributed tracing to detect and diagnose issues before customers feel them
  • Lead incident response for production outages — perform blameless postmortems and drive remediation items to completion
  • Design and improve CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Terraform) supporting GitOps-style infrastructure and application delivery across AWS or GCP
  • Automate away recurring operational work: self-healing runbooks, chaos testing, and infrastructure-as-code patterns
  • Partner with development teams on reliability reviews, capacity forecasts, and production readiness for new service launches
What We Are Looking For
  • 3–7 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering, with hands-on ownership of large-scale production systems
  • Deep operational experience with Kubernetes — administration, troubleshooting, and designing cluster architectures in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Strong programming or scripting skills in Go, Python, or Bash for building internal tooling and automation
  • Production experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible) and modern CI/CD workflows
  • Fluency in observability stacks: Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry, including alert design and dashboard strategy
  • Demonstrated experience leading incident response and writing high-quality postmortems; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • Bonus: Experience with service mesh (Istio/Linkerd), chaos engineering, multi-region failover design, or compliance-driven environments (SOC 2, PCI)
