Job Description - Site Rail Coordinator (2500580)

RSI Logistics, recently acquired by Trinity Industries Inc., is seeking a Site Rail Coordinator. This role involves planning and coordinating the movement of railcars to and from manufacturing locations, storage facilities, transit yards, customers, and third-party sites. The coordinator will maintain target levels of loaded and empty railcars in line with manufacturing, supply, and demand needs, including scheduling and reporting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to meet railcar needs, raw materials, and safety stock requirements.
  • Ensure local yards have sufficient capacity and appropriate railcar types, maintaining operational fluidity.
  • Schedule and coordinate railcars, including ordering from yards or lease tracks and assigning spots for loading.
  • Manage shipments of loaded and empty railcars, including hazardous materials, between plants, storage, and other destinations.
  • Ensure outbound railcars to Mexico clear customs and are free of holds.
  • Maintain relationships with railroad contacts, plant operators, and supply chain personnel.
  • Communicate proactively with Class I, regional, and shortline railroads to address service issues.
  • Identify and resolve local service disruptions promptly.
  • Escalate issues through proper channels within the organization.
  • Process OTMA documentation for the FRA.
  • Participate in quarterly stewardship meetings with relevant information.
  • Coordinate with customers and third-party vendors within the supply chain.
  • Manage local railcar inventory to meet loading requirements and thresholds.
  • Review and fulfill open inbound and outbound orders.
  • Generate and verify billing for loaded and empty railcars via SAP or railroad websites.
  • Expedite high-priority shipments as needed.

Additional notes:

  • This position follows a rotational work schedule.
  • After-hours support is required for continuous operations and emergencies.
  • Weekend and holiday coverage are part of the duties.

Qualifications:
