Job summary

Georg Fischer seeks a senior quality leader to direct site QA/QC, supplier and customer quality, and NPI quality. You will drive CAPA, perform root-cause investigations, and reduce defects, nonconformances, and cost of poor quality while ensuring compliance with ISO 9/14/45001 and regulatory requirements.

You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to improve processes, qualify suppliers, and support new product introductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8–10 years of progressive quality leadership in manufacturing.
• ASQ certifications (CQE, CMQ/OE, CQA, 6-sigma) preferred.
• Experience with ISO 9001/14001/45001 and quality systems.
• Experience with supplier quality programs and internal/external audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead site quality functions including QA, QC, supplier/customer quality, and NPI quality.
• Drive quality improvements by analyzing metrics and leading root-cause investigations.
• Ensure ISO 9/14/45001 compliance via audits and management reviews.
• Coach and develop the quality team and foster accountability and customer focus.

Job description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Lead all site quality functions including Quality Assurance, Quality Control, SupplierQuality, Customer Quality, NPI/NPD Quality and Compliance activities, serving as theprimary point of contact for all quality matters at the site. Drive quality performance improvements by analyzing key metrics, leading root causeinvestigations, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and reducingcustomer complaints, nonconformances, scrap, and cost of poor quality. Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9/14/45001, environmental requirements,customer specifications, corporate standards, and applicable regulatory requirementsthrough audits, management reviews, and quality system effectiveness. Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Product Management, SupplyChain, and Customer Service to improve processes, support new product introductions,qualify suppliers, and resolve quality issues quickly and effectively. Develop and lead the quality team through coaching, training, performancemanagement, and continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a culture ofaccountability, operational excellence, and customer focus. Complete Role Standard Work and deliver all other duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Working knowledge of GD&T standards Excellent computer skills and data analysis/data mining capability. Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9/14/45001) and manufacturingquality principles. Expertise in Root Cause Analysis methodologies such as 8D, A3, 5 Why, Fishbone, andCAPA. Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC), process validation, risk management,and quality metrics. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the abilityto influence across all levels of the organization. Strong problem-solving and project management capabilities with a data-drivenapproach to decision-making. Proficiency in quality tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to lead customer audits, supplier audits, and regulatory inspectionsEducation and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, or a related technicaldiscipline. Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive quality leadership experience within amanufacturing environment. Proven experience managing customer complaints, supplier quality programs, correctiveactions, and quality audits. Demonstrated success leading quality improvement initiatives that deliver measurablebusiness results. Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments (UL, NSF, LR) andsupporting cross-functional operational excellence initiatives. ASQ certifications (CQE, CMQ/OE, CQA, 6-sigma black belt) preferred. Experience with sensors, instrumentation, valves, flow measurement devices, orindustrial manufacturing industries is highly desirable.Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use handsto finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
