Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to develop and maintain a QMS compliant with ISO 9001:2015 and U.S. Army requirements. You will oversee site quality processes, audits, and corrective actions to ensure mission success and contractual compliance.

The role requires collaboration with Army representatives, project leadership, and contractor personnel, plus strong leadership, analytical skills, and familiarity with Army logistics standards.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in quality management, logistics, or related field; MA preferred.
• 5–7 years of quality assurance experience in logistics or maintenance.
• Experience with US Army contracts or military logistics preferred.
• ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor (preferred).
• ASQ certifications (CQA, CMQ/OE, CQI) are a plus.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 QMS requirements.
• Familiarity with Army standards (AR 710-2, AR 750-1, AR 735-5, DTR).
• Analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
• Proficient with MS Office; Army logistics IT systems desirable.
• Must have REAL ID, valid driver's license, CAC, and ability to travel up to 25%.

The QA Manager will oversee site quality processes, conduct audits, leadcorrectiveand preventive actions, and collaborate with Army representatives, project leadership, and contractor personnel to ensure mission success and contractual compliance.

Responsibilities

Manages quality assurance activities. Implements, monitors, and interprets testing meant to verify quality or compliance of products or production processes, and suggests modifications meant to prevent defects in components or final products. Manages installs and validates testing equipment or procedures. Analyzes test results, and interprets data to produce reports detaining quality related trends. Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles. Performs complex tasks typically following established processes. Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions. Administers departmental policies and procedures, evaluates results and performance, and assists with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies. Typically requires BA and 5-7 years.

• Quality Management & Compliance
• Develop, implement, and sustain aQMS aligned with ISO 9001:2015standards.
• Ensure all site operations (supply, maintenance, and transportation) are compliant with U.S. Army regulations, technical manuals, and contractual requirements.
• Maintain certification readiness and coordinate with external auditors during surveillance and recertification audits.
• Auditing & Continuous Improvement:
  • Plan, schedule, and conductinternal quality auditsacross all site functions.
  • Identifynon-conformances, lead root-cause analyses, and track corrective and preventive actions.
  • Promote acontinuous improvement culturethrough metrics, performance monitoring, and best practice sharing.
• Documentation & Records Control:
  • Establish andmaintaincontrolled documentation, includingSOPs, work instructions, and training records.
  • Ensure documentationcomplies withboth ISO 9001:2015 and U.S. Army contract requirements.
  • Maintainaccuraterecords of inspections, audits, corrective actions, and compliance reports.
• Training & Awareness:
  • ProvideISO 9001:2015 awareness and quality trainingto contractor site personnel.
  • Develop site-specific training programs to ensure staff understand quality requirements, inspection protocols, and Army standards.
• Risk Management & Performance Monitoring:
  • Identifyrisks affecting mission performance and compliance; develop mitigation strategies.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality across supply, maintenance, and transportation functions.
  • Report performance data toProject Manager, Deputy Project Manager, and Government COR (Contracting Officer’s Representative).
• Customer & Stakeholder Interface:
  • Serve as primary point of contact forquality-related matters with U.S. Army representatives.
  • Supportcontract reviews, inspections, and acceptance testingin coordination with the Army.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing quality issues promptly and effectively.

• In-depth understanding ofISO 9001:2015 QMSrequirements.
• Familiarity withU.S. Army supply, maintenance, and transportation standards(e.g., AR 710-2, AR 750-1, AR 735-5, Defense Transportation Regulation [DTR], and applicable technical manuals).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills for interfacing with Army officials and contractor staff.
• Proficiencyin MS Office Suite; experience with ArmylogisticsIT systems (GCSS-Army, LMP, etc.) desirable
• Must have a REAL ID.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with proof of vehicle insurance.
• Must be able to obtain andmaintaina Common Access Card (CAC).
• Must be able to obtain Tier1/ NACI (Public trust) background eligibility.
