Job summary

PTR Global is seeking a Site Project Manager to own the delivery of onsite data-center projects in Buffalo, NY and Abernathy, TX. This full-time role requires being onsite, coordinating expansions, retrofits, upgrades, and decommissions while maintaining live operations.

The successful candidate will manage scope, schedules, budgets, vendors, and contractors, ensuring safe, on-time completion within budget, and reporting progress to leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing critical‑facility, construction, infrastructure, or data‑center projects end to end.
• Experience managing projects within existing, operational buildings or live environments.
• Ability to manage expansions, retrofits, upgrades, downgrades, and other capital or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of critical‑facility environments and how to execute projects without disrupting live operations.
• Proficiency with project tracking and scheduling tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, MS Project, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of onsite projects, including deployments, expansions, retrofits, upgrades, equipment refreshes, and decommissions.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, vendors, contractors, risks, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate work around uptime requirements, maintenance windows, and change-control processes.
• Partner with operations, facilities, engineering, SMEs, and construction teams to validate scope and execution.
• Hold contractors, vendors, and service providers accountable throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain project schedules, budgets, risk and issue logs, change records, and as-built/closeout documentation.
• Provide clear status, risk, and milestone reporting to site leadership and program stakeholders.
• Develop site-level process improvements, runbooks, and standards that make recurring projects faster and safer.

Job Overview:
The Site Project Manager will serve as the permanent, onsite owner of project delivery at a data center. This role involves managing expansions, retrofits, upgrades, equipment refreshes, downgrades, deployments, and decommissions. The successful candidate will ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and with minimal disruption to live operations. This position requires a strong understanding of critical‑facility environments and the ability to work onsite full‑time.

• Demonstrated ownership of project scope, schedule, budget, vendors, and contractors with minimal oversight.
• Ability to manage expansions, retrofits, upgrades, downgrades, and other capital or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of critical‑facility environments and how to execute projects without disrupting live operations.
• Strong organization, communication, decision‑making, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work onsite full‑time at the Buffalo data‑center location.
• Proficiency with project tracking and scheduling tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, MS Project, or similar.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Critical‑facility or construction project‑management experience, especially within existing operational buildings.
• Data‑center experience is highly preferred but not required.
• Experience with new deployments, retrofits, upgrades, or capital projects in live data centers or critical facilities.
• Familiarity with commissioning, MEP, power and cooling, structured cabling, or data‑center infrastructure.
• Experience bridging construction or deployment handoff into ongoing operations.
• Experience delivering a data‑center deployment or build.
• PMP, CAPM, DCD, CDCP, BICSI, or ITIL Foundation certification.
• Lean, Six Sigma, SOP‑development, or process‑improvement experience.

Pay Range: $200,000-$230,000

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
