Job summary

Perdue Farms is seeking a Process Safety Engineer in Cofield, North Carolina to lead the site’s process safety program and drive risk reduction across operations. You will partner with plant leadership, engineering teams, and frontline associates to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement in safety performance.

The role emphasizes management of change, incident investigations, and risk assessments, with extensive collaboration on capital projects and safety training for staff.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of process safety experience in chemical manufacturing or agricultural processing.
• Experience applying the 14 elements of Process Safety Management.
• Experience with a Risk-Based Process Safety program defined by the Center for Chemical Process Safety.
• Strong problem-solving, diagnostic, and analytical skills.
• Demonstrate a continuous improvement approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead site-level process safety program and audits.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report process safety performance metrics at the site level.
• Participate in Process Safety Management and process safety audits.
• Provide Process Safety Management training to plant leaders and frontline associates.
• Organize and maintain process safety documentation.
• Collaborate with the project engineering team to provide process safety technical guidance for capital projects.
