Job summary

AltaMed is seeking a Site Medical Director who will have overall responsibility for clinical patient care at the site, collaborating with the Clinic Administrator and Nurse Administrator to guide medical decisions and address programmatic and administrative issues.

The ideal candidate is a physician licensed in California with a valid DEA license, leadership experience, and proficiency with Electronic Medical Records; bilingual skills are preferred, along with a current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Physician with an active, unrestrictive CA license to practice medicine and a DEA license.
• Prior leadership or management experience preferred.
• Experience with computer-based systems; Electronic Medical Records preferred.
• Education, training, and experience to meet malpractice coverage requirements.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese preferred, depending on location.
• A valid BLS certification or higher required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical patient care at the site in collaboration with the Clinic Administrator and Nurse Administrator.
• Direct medical care decisions and participate in the Interdisciplinary Team.

Job Overview

The Site Medical Director has overall responsibility for clinical patient care and addresses clinical, programmatic, medical, and administrative issues at the site in collaboration with the Clinic Administrator and Nurse Administrator. The Site Medical Director or designee actively participates in the Interdisciplinary Team and directs the medical care decisions.

Minimum Requirements

• Physician with an active, unrestrictive CA license to practice medicine by the Medical Board of California and a DEA License required.

• Prior experience in a leadership or management role is strongly preferred.

• Previous experience with computer-based systems is required; Electronic Medical Records experience is preferred.

• Education, training, and experience are necessary to meet the underwritten requirements for inclusion under AltaMed’s malpractice insurance coverage.

• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese preferred, depending on location.

• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Compensation

$310,648.00 - $372,777.60 annually
