Job summary

TerraPower seeks a Site Design Engineering Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead onsite mechanical design for the Natrium Demonstration Project in Kemmerer, Wyoming. You will ensure alignment with construction, testing, startup, and turnover activities while maintaining compliance with design basis, licensing, and safety standards.

The role leads the onsite mechanical design team, interfaces with construction, licensing, QA, and regulators, and drives deliverables to meet schedule and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher; PE preferred.
• Minimum 10–15 years of progressive engineering experience with 5–7 years in leadership.
• Experience in nuclear facility design, construction support, or field engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite Mechanical Engineering team for the Natrium Demonstration Project.
• Oversee mechanical design follow-through and field engineering supporting construction, testing, startup, and turnover.
• Interface with construction, licensing/regulatory, QA, and regulators to resolve technical issues.
• Manage resource allocation and prioritize work with other team leads for schedule adherence.
• Mentor engineers, support recruitment, onboarding, and ensure compliance with project standards.
