The Order of Malta Lebanon has been operating in the health and social welfare sectors since 1957. It manages a network of 60 projects serving the most vulnerable populations, across the Lebanese territory including primary healthcare centers, mobile medical units, elderly day care centers, hosting centers for the differently abled and projects for the displaced and refugees as well as an agro-humanitarian project within the catchment areas of its centers.

SUMMARY
Site Manager provides advanced agricultural, nursery, production, and processing expertise to ensure high-quality, efficient, and sustainable operations of the Agro-Humanitarian Center (AHC). The Site manager reports directly to the Business Manager, receives technical oversight from the QA/QC Supervisor, and plays a central role in guaranteeing the local sustainability and technical credibility of the AHC. The role contributes to both the social enterprise (productivity, cost-efficiency, service quality) and program functions (demo-plots, farmer training, knowledge transfer), ensuring that AHC operations generate impact, attract beneficiaries, and support long-term viability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead technical planning and execution of all AHC service lines, including nurseries, composting, processing units, and production services.
- Ensure full adherence to technical SOPs, agroecological principles, and quality protocols.
- Guide PU Supervisors and AHC staff to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Establish and manage demo-plots showcasing best agricultural practices and climate-smart solutions.
- Support capacity-building with high-quality demonstration models.
- Conduct trials for improved methods, varieties, technologies, or innovative practices.
- Provide professional guidance in seedling production, irrigation scheduling, disease and pest management, organic inputs, compost utilization, and field production.
- Ensure compost production, land preparation, and irrigation setups follow best technical standards.
- Identify operational technical risks early and implement corrective measures.
- Work closely with the QA/QC Supervisor to implement quality and safety standards.
- Ensure batch records, hygiene practices, and technical logs are properly maintained.
- Participate in inspections and act on technical non-compliance findings.
- Ensure that all technical decisions directly support the financial, operational, and environmental sustainability of the AHC.
- Optimize resource use, reduce waste, and promote cost-effective technical solutions.
- Identify opportunities to expand service offerings, improve efficiency, and enhance the AHC’s attractiveness to farmers and clients.
- Support the Business Manager in maintaining consistent service quality that strengthens trust, beneficiaries’ satisfaction, and long-term demand.
- Ensure technical reliability and continuity of AHC operations to maintain a stable and sustainable local presence.
- Train and mentor PU Supervisors, nursery staff, processing unit teams, and admin staff on technical standards and best practices.
- Conduct refresher trainings and ensure staff remain updated on improved techniques and SOPs.
- Promote a learning culture and strengthen local technical capacity.
- Provide technical input for trainings, field days, farmer workshops, and community technical sessions.
- Coordinate closely with the Program Manager, Field Coordinators, and Outreach Officers for farmer-targeted activities.
- Represent the AHC in technical discussions during field engagement.
- Prepare clear and complete technical specifications for inputs, tools, equipment, and materials needed for AHC operations.
- Submit specifications to the Business Manager for PRF initiation.
- Verify the technical quality of delivered goods and confirm suitability.
- Monitor seedling batch performance, production indicators, demo-plot results, compost quality, and processing efficiency.
- Submit weekly technical reports to the Business Manager and share technical updates with QA/QC.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to improve technical and operational performance.
- Identify new techniques, climate-resilient practices, cost-saving measures, and innovative service lines.
- Pilot experimental methods that can enhance sustainability, productivity, or farmer satisfaction.
- Support continuous improvement efforts across all technical domains.
· Applies and follows the code of ethics, values, mission, and vision of the Order of Malta-Lebanon.
· Performs other related duties assigned by the Program Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agri-business, business management or related field
- More than 5 Years of experience in management
- Experience in Agriculture, food and plant production is a plus
- Collaboration and Teamwork
- Organizational skills and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in Computer literacy (Word, Excel…)
- Fluency in Arabic, English and French (written and spoken)
