Job summary

Telos Corporation, based in Charleston, SC, seeks a senior network engineer to design, implement, and secure wired/wireless LANs. You will conduct site surveys, specify devices and materials, and document integration approaches for complex networks.

You will apply extensive networking knowledge to design WAN/LAN systems, perform rigorous testing for performance and security, and create detailed technical documentation. Travel up to 20% and leadership of teams are expected.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline (8–10 years).
• DoD 8140 Cyber IT Workforce compliant (Security+ or equiv).
• Extensive networking knowledge and admin experience.
• Strong technical writing; MS Office and Visio.
• Wiring standards knowledge; BICSI a plus; Aruba cert a plus.
• Willing to travel up to 20% and US citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Identify, gather and review requirements collection supporting the design and implementation of wired/wireless LANs.
• Perform site surveys to design the network and identify device placement and materials required.
• Create and deliver extensive design documentation, device locations, materials and integration approach.
• Rely on extensive network knowledge to design wired/wireless LAN/WAN systems and integrate into existing networks.
• Perform tests to verify performance and security against thresholds.
• Design and test prototype network components to validate designs before fielding.
• Provide recommendations to resolve issues and improve systems.
• Produce detailed documentation including proposals and integration instructions.
• Train technicians and junior engineers.
• Lead and direct work of team members and subcontractors.
