Job summary

Telos Corporation in Charleston, SC seeks a network-focused engineer to design and secure wired/wireless LANs/WANs. The role requires a DoD Secret Clearance and strong documentation skills to deliver comprehensive network designs.

Responsibilities include site surveys, test and evaluation, creating detailed implementation plans, and training technicians. Travel up to 20% is required and the candidate should meet DoD 8140 Cyber IT Workforce compliance (Security+ or equivalent).

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training or experience (8–10 years).
• Security+ or equivalent and DoD 8140 Cyber IT Workforce compliant.
• Experience in general networking and network administration, upgrades and operations.
• Strong technical writing skills with MS Office including Visio.

Responsibilities

• Identify, gather and review requirements for wired/wireless LANs.
• Perform site surveys to design networks and determine device placement.
• Create and deliver extensive design documentation.
• Lead teams and subcontractors on network projects.
• Test and evaluate wired/wireless networks for performance and security.
• Design and test prototype network components and configurations.
• Provide recommendations and write detailed integration instructions.
• Train technicians and junior engineers.
• Lead and direct the work of others on the project.
