Job summary

Ford Energy is seeking an Site IT Systems Engineer in Kentucky to provide hands-on IT infrastructure support for manufacturing and business operations. You’ll work under the Site IT Manager, handling incident response, maintenance, cybersecurity initiatives, and rollout of major IT projects across data centers, networks, and endpoints.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in IT/CS/Engineering and 2 years in IT infrastructures or manufacturing IT.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, network support, or manufacturing IT environments.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL practices for incident, problem, and change management.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing operations, plant floor systems, or industrial IT/OT environments preferred; battery or energy industry experience a plus.
  • Solid understanding of networking, servers, virtualization, and endpoint management.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, monitor, and maintain site IT infrastructure, including data center equipment, network devices, servers, PCs, mobile devices, and related hardware/software.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support for IT equipment across production, warehouse, office, lab, utility, outbuilding, and remote operating areas.
  • Serve as first-line responder for incidents, performing triage, troubleshooting, and escalation; document root cause analysis and implement actions.
  • Execute planned maintenance, system updates, and outages in coordination with operations, plant teams, vendors, and IT leadership.
  • Support rollout of major IT and business initiatives (IIOT deployments, cybersecurity remediation, end-user tools) with installation and go-live activities.
  • Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery and high-availability procedures.
  • Perform routine system health checks, capacity monitoring, and proactive maintenance.
  • Support cybersecurity compliance efforts, including patching, vulnerability remediation, access control administration, and policy adherence.
  • Maintain documentation of systems, configurations, incidents, and procedures.
  • Mentor junior technicians and contribute to a safe, inclusive team environment.

In this position…

The Ford Energy Site IT Systems Engineer provides hands-on technical support and execution for IT infrastructure, applications, and end-user services across the Ford Energy site. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of site IT systems that support battery manufacturing, energy systems, and business operations, working under the direction of the Site IT Manager to execute on infrastructure readiness, incident response, and cybersecurity initiatives. Off-hour, weekend, and holiday support may be required based on business needs.

What you’ll do…

  • Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery and high-availability procedures for critical plant infrastructure and manufacturing applications.
  • Perform routine system health checks, capacity monitoring, and proactive maintenance to identify and resolve issues before they impact operations.
  • Support cybersecurity compliance efforts, including patching, vulnerability remediation, access control administration, and adherence to security policies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, incidents, and procedures (runbooks, knowledge base articles).
  • Mentor junior technicians and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and accountable team environment.

You’ll have…

This position is a salary grade 5 and ranges from $65,100-$109,300.,

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500.,

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.,

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate’s skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
