Job summary

Verdantas is seeking a motivated Site Inspector to join our environmental team in California. This junior-level role focuses on stormwater inspections, sampling, and reporting to support compliance projects.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in environmental discipline, science, or engineering required.
• 1–2 years of relevant stormwater experience preferred (SWPPP, sampling, observation).
• Familiarity with CA stormwater regulations and CASQA Handbook is a plus.

This is a junior-level stormwater professional position, depending on experience. This position is remote with preferred locations in San Ramon or Sacramento, CA.In this role, you’ll support environmental and stormwater compliance projects, including assisting clients in complying with stormwater regulations and preventing pollutants from leaving the project boundary and entering our waterways. Responsibilities will include conducting stormwater inspections, conducting stormwater sampling, and preparing related documentation and reporting.What You'll Do:* Review and potentially create daily HASP and own personal and team safety in the field* Perform computations and process data using computer software or other established methods* Assist in preparing technical reports to document project findings, conclusions, and recommendations* Assist in preparing maps and other illustrations for data interpretation and presentation* Assist in evaluating alternative solutions to science-related problems* Collect and interpret data through research, file reviews, field observations and measurements, field testing and other methods* Cross-train in natural resources, including wetlands and/or environmental permitting What You'll Bring:* BS or BA degree, preferably in an environmental discipline, science, or engineering* Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience supporting experience in SWPPP, including sampling and analysis, non-stormwater and storm water visual observations, environmental restoration, landscape construction, and erosion control* Knowledge of water quality or stormwater management information, techniques, practices, laws, and regulations of the job or occupational field* Knowledge of the California State Water Board Permits* Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation* QSP and/or QSD Certification are preferred* Familiarity with the California Stormwater Construction General Permit and the California Stormwater Quality Association (CASQA) Construction Handbook* Possess knowledge of environmental key issues and trends, including emerging best practices and technology, and familiar with industry language and terminology* Competency with Google Earth KMZ**Salary Range:**Starting at 25.00## Benefits:* Flexible Work Environment* 401(k) with Company Match*Verdantas strives to develop new ways to increase diversity awareness within our organization.
