Job summary

Rose Paving LLC is seeking a Site General Laborer to handle cuts, fills, and grading using heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, skid loaders, and front-end loaders. You will prepare and move materials, liaise with coworkers, and ensure safe, accurate project completion.

Daily duties include equipment inspection, load/unload operations, and meeting with supervisors to coordinate work. Candidates must be able to lift up to 60 lbs and work extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in the safety operation of Heavy Civil Equipment.
• Clean Driving Record is preferred.
• OSHA 10 construction Certification preferred.
• Detail orientation and attention to surroundings.
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Must be able to work extended hours and weekends/holidays as needed to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, bulldozers, skid loaders, front-end loaders and other heavy equipment.
• Prepare and manipulate heavy equipment for material movement and liaise with coworkers.
• Create level surfaces and grade slopes to specifications using plans or surveyor guidance.
• Load and unload materials from trucks using operated equipment.
• Inspect equipment at start of day and ensure reliable operation.
• Attend daily meetings and maintain clear communication with supervisors.

The position requires to run Excavators, Bulldozers, Skid Loaders, Front-End Loaders, among other heavy equipment. The Equipment Operator’s duties include preparing and manipulating heavy equipment to ensure the appropriate movement of materials and liaising with co-workers to ensure that the projects are completed accurately· Practice safety in your every move, estimating weights and distances, being fully aware of your surroundings, doing your part to minimize hazards and reporting any injuries or damage immediately· Create level surfaces, grade slopes to specifications, remove material and thoroughly fill voids using plans and/or a surveyor as guidance· Load and unload construction materials, waste, and other heavy objects from trucks and into trucks utilizing equipment you are operating· Start each workday with an inspection of tires, controls, fuel and fluids to ensure reliable operation· Participate in daily meetings with your supervisor and staff, maintaining constant communication throughout the work period· Store and clean machinery at its designated location and complete work reports at the end of each working day· Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures while performing the work· Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct· Participate in meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines· Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management· Perform or assist with any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned to maintain workflow and meet schedules· High school diploma or GED· Proficiency in the safety operation of Heavy Civil Equipment· Clean Driving Record (Preferred)· OSHA 10 construction Certification (Preferred)· Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies· Requires detail orientation and attention· Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently· Ability to fully understand the paving process· Ability to use heavy equipment· Ability to accurately interpret plans and surveyed lay-out· · Must be able to work extended hours and weekends/holidays as needed to meet deadlines· Heavy equipment, hand and powered tools, common cleaning equipment and small engine equipment· Computer and peripherals, standard and customized software applications and tools, and usual office equipment· This position works under outdoor conditions and exposed to elements including but not limited to, weather, chemicals, odor and environmental conditions. The employee must be able to work in an upright standing position for long periods of time, and must be able to sit, walk, crawl, climb, reach with hands and arms, work in difficult positions and lift up to 60 lbs. The incumbent must be able to detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms.
