Job summary

Kinsa Group is seeking a Site Food Safety & Quality Manager for our Cleveland, OH manufacturing facility. You will lead the FSQ function, ensure products and processes meet regulatory, customer, and company standards, and oversee the FSQMS, audits, CAPA, allergen controls, and recall programs.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 5–7 years of progressive FSQ experience, HACCP and SQF Practitioner certifications, and proven leadership of QA/QC teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.
  • 5–7 years of progressive Food Safety and Quality experience within food manufacturing including leadership of site-level QA/QC teams.
  • HACCP certification and SQF Practitioner certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA, USDA, FSMA, GFSI, and SQF requirements with hands-on audits.
  • Experience with food safety programs, CAPA/root cause analysis, sanitation, allergen controls, environmental monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams across Operations and plant functions.
  • Willingness to support operation during occasional evenings/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and effectiveness of the site’s FSQMS.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA/USDA/FSMA/GFSI/SQF requirements.
  • Lead internal/external audits, inspections, and CAPA initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain HACCP/food safety plans, allergen controls, environmental monitoring, sanitation verification, traceability, recalls.
  • Lead and develop QA/QC team including supervisors, technicians, and lab staff.
  • Oversee product quality, nonconformance, hold/release, root cause investigations, corrective actions.
  • Partner with Operations, Sanitation, Maintenance, R&D, and Supply Chain to drive improvements.
  • Serve as a key FSQ resource to build a strong quality culture.

With a strong focus on continuous improvement, they are seeking an experienced Food Safety & Quality leader to take ownership of the FSQ function at their Cleveland manufacturing facility.

What You’ll Do:
As the Site Food Safety & Quality Manager, you will lead the Food Safety and Quality function for the Cleveland manufacturing facility, with responsibility for ensuring products, processes, and programs consistently meet regulatory, customer, and company standards. You will oversee the site’s Food Safety & Quality Management System (FSQMS), lead the Quality team, drive audit readiness and regulatory compliance, and partner across the operation to build a strong culture of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing effectiveness of the site’s Food Safety & Quality Management System (FSQMS).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable FDA, USDA, FSMA, GFSI, and SQF requirements.
  • Lead internal and external audits, customer and regulatory inspections, and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve HACCP and Food Safety Plans, allergen controls, environmental monitoring, sanitation verification, traceability, and recall programs.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the site Quality team, including QA supervisors, technicians, and laboratory staff.
  • Oversee product quality, nonconformance, hold/release activities, root cause investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Sanitation, Maintenance, R&D, and Supply Chain to resolve issues, reduce risk, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a key Food Safety and Quality resource for the site, helping build accountability and a strong quality culture across all levels of the operation.

Qualifications You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of progressive Food Safety and Quality experience within food manufacturing, including leadership of site-level QA/QC teams.
  • HACCP certification and SQF Practitioner certification, or the ability to obtain SQF Practitioner certification within 90 days.
  • Strong working knowledge of FDA, USDA, FSMA, GFSI, and SQF requirements, with hands‑on experience leading audits and supporting regulatory inspections.
  • Demonstrated experience with Food Safety programs, CAPA/root cause analysis, sanitation, allergen controls, environmental monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams while collaborating effectively across Operations and other plant functions.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills with the ability to succeed in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Flexibility to support the operation during occasional evenings or weekends as business needs require.
