Job summary

Ingredion is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager at our Winston-Salem, NC facility. You will lead all EHS programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive a proactive safety culture across operations.

The role reports to the Winston-Salem Plant Manager and oversees a small EHS team. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and have substantial manufacturing EHS experience, strong investigation and communication skills, and the ability to work with leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Significant experience in safety, health, and environmental (EHS) management within a manufacturing, industrial, or operations environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify risks, evaluate solutions, and implement corrective actions.
• Knowledge of occupational safety, environmental compliance, emergency response, fire prevention, security, and medical response programs.
• Proven ability to conduct thorough incident investigations, determine root causes, develop corrective actions, and effectively communicate findings through presentations and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs and initiatives for the site, ensuring a strong safety culture and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and company regulations, including OSHA, NFPA, EPA, North Carolina DNR, site security requirements, and workers' compensation laws.
• Direct incident, injury, and root cause investigations, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve workplace safety.
• Oversee environmental compliance activities, including management of Title V air permits, NPDES permits, and other regulatory requirements.
• Lead and develop site emergency response capabilities, including First Aid Responder and Hazmat teams, to ensure operational preparedness.
• Partner with leaders, employees, and union representatives to drive employee engagement, build trust, influence change, and advance proactive safety performance measures.
• Develop and execute strategic safety improvement plans, leveraging strong communication, integrity, and problem-solving skills to achieve company goals and navigate complex business challenges.
