Job summary

The Granite YMCA in Concord, NH is seeking an experienced Site Director to lead a thriving elementary school before- and after-school program. You will mentor staff, build strong relationships with families, and deliver high-quality youth programming in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

As Site Director, you will oversee daily operations, ensure safety and licensing compliance, and collaborate with program leadership to continually improve experiences for children and families.

Qualifications

• Experience in childcare, youth development, education, recreation, or related field.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, school partners, and staff.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for a licensed school-age childcare program.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children, families, and staff.
• Develop and implement enriching activities that support youth development and learning.
• Supervise, coach, and support Group Leaders and Assistant Group Leaders.
• Build strong partnerships with school personnel, families, and community stakeholders.
• Manage daily program operations, including attendance, behavior guidance, scheduling, and site organization.
• Ensure compliance with YMCA standards, NH Child Care Licensing regulations, and school policies.
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and communication with families.
• Collaborate with Program Leadership to evaluate program quality and implement continuous improvement efforts.
• Support extended-day programming, vacation camps, family events, and special activities as needed.

• Experience working in childcare, youth development, education, recreation, or a related field
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, school partners, and staff
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, or willingness to obtain upon hire
