Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking a Civil Engineer to lead portions of complex site development projects in a hybrid work setting. You will design from concept through design completion, coordinate with internal teams, and engage clients to define scope and deliverables.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and a PE license (or active licensure pursuit), with 5+ years of related experience. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or active pursuit of licensure is preferred.
• Thorough understanding of civil site development (Site Plans, Permitting, Grading, Storm Water) is essential.

The Opportunity

In this role, you may have the opportunity to:

• Focus on the delivery of civil site development projects and will assist in the design, construction, and project management of a wide variety of projects involving grading design, stormwater design, erosion control designculvert design, and pavement design, etc.
• Have hands‑on involvement in the permitting process.
• Have significant interaction with multi-disciplinary internal teams and external clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform design of projects from the conceptual and bid phase through design completion for project needsand requirements that are set by the project managers based off client needs.
• Assist the Engineering Manager in maintaining project schedules and budgets.
• Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, interface directly with the client or sub-consultants.
• Support business development through writing of technical approaches, scopes of work, and presentation to clients.
• Responsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplines and project team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) License, or in active pursuit of licensure
• Thorough understanding of civil site development (i.e., Site Plans, Permitting, Grading, Storm WaterManagement, Storm Water Design)
• Ability and motivation to lead portions of complex projects with guidance and mentorship

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon managerdiscretion, job performance and work assignments.
• May require travel to local and regional client sites.
